Mahoe Planting with Lincoln Kidsfirst Kindergarten

Today a small group of children from our EnviroHeroes meet the children from Lincoln Kidsfirst Kindergarten to complete some planting at the reserve. The day was organised and supported by Matt (Our EnviroSchools Co-ordinator, Brooke from Te Ara Kakariki and Mike Bowie from Lincoln University. It looks and sounds like Mike and his bugs were once again a huge hit. We were honoured to be invited to support and help the little people in this project. The aim is to plant natives in pockets to create a native corridor for birds to travel along. Feeding along the way. It was interesting to get a tweet today saying that a Tui was seen today of all days at Mahoe Reserve. This shows that this type of native planting is working. It is all about creating a community that values biodiversity. Well done Lincoln Kidsfirst Kindergarten and thanks for letting us help and teach your children.
